Approach

The CC2C project:

• adopts a comprehensive conceptual framework considering environmental, economic, social, institutional, and political factors
• differs from existing literature by accounting for a full range of manifestations of instability and violence
• applies a common conceptual framework at different scales of analysis (macro, meso, and micro) and on different geographies (Andean region, West Africa, and South-East Asia)
• emphasizes integration of perspectives to disentangle conditions explaining heterogeneity of outcomes across and within areas
